The rugged beauty of the Highlands is the feature of the day in this tour, visiting Loch Carron, Kishorn, Bealach na Ba, Applecross, Loch Maree, the famous Inverewe Gardens and Ullapool. This a picturesque trip that you won't forget.
From your hotel/pickup point we head along the Beauly Firth, past Beauly Priory (Valliscaulian monastic community probably founded around 1230 ) and Glen Ord distillery towards the stunning west coast of Scotland.
It’s 360 degree views as we travel along the shores of Lochs Carron and Kishorn before climbing the biggest mountain pass in the UK – the ‘Bealach na Ba’ (Pass of the Cattle) before descending to the delightful hamlet of Applecross. We can assure you that the cameras won’t stop clicking! There will be more amazing views that stretch across the sea towards the Isle Skye as we head along the coast to the delightful loch-side village of Sheildaig.
We travel through the imperious Torridon mountain range next to the rocky shores of Loch Maree which is rich in Viking and Druid History with more tremendous views.
We then go to another beautiful shore-side village – Gairloch, and then visit the sub-tropical Inverewe Gardens of Poolewe if you wish before travelling around Loch Ewe, with remains of the important part it played in harbouring convoys during WW2 standing as a poignant reminder.
When then travel further around the coastal route with a brief visit to the amazing Corrieshalloch Gorge before a final stop in the fishing town of Ullapool before heading back to Inverness and your hotel/drop-off point.
